The Pearl : Essence Collection showcases large luscious pearls and other spectacular items associated with the sea, like the opalized ammonite in Neptune’s Chariot. Revered throughout the history of jewelry, pearls have been considered more precious than diamonds. My favorites are the flameball pearls, so named for the flashing on them that looks like a flame rising from the round pearl. Natural and unique, these pearls grow this way, they are not sculpted. Their color and luster is rich and deep. All the more reason to love them!
I am inspired by the myths and legends that have defined cultural systems throughout history. From the Greek and Roman gods and goddesses to Japanese water dragons with their pearls, I hope to bring to life some of those traditions. To remind us that the ocean has spawned more than the beginnings of life, it has been the source of our cultural stories.
